Many discomforts of early pregnancy improve during middle months. For most women energy rebounds and nausea fades away. However, as your body is continuing to change some new problems may appear. Common troublemakers include headache, leg cramps, back pain, abdominal pain, heartburn, pain in the buttocks or down the leg (sciatica), and wrist pain.
The good news is that these irritations and discomforts typically respond extremely well to our care! During the early weeks of your second trimester, we aim to enhance muscle and joint function, reduce aches and pains, improve circulation and body tone, and relieve mental and physical fatigue.
By
the middle of this trimester, when you feel the baby move for the first
time, we can spend a portion of each session very gently massaging your
belly and baby within. Also, by continuing to work on the muscles and
joints around your pelvis we work to prepare your body to accommodate
the continued growth of your baby and for the labor and delivery that
will follow. Services include prenatal specific chiropractic
adjustments and prenatal counseling.
